Welcome – I’m Shan, an artist drawn to the expressive power of mood and movement, as I work with layers of acrylics and mixed media.

My current focus lies in creating abstract scapes that begin intuitively and unfold organically, evolving through layers of paint, collage, mark-making and texture. I often incorporate found and recycled materials into my work – from stained coffee filters and used tea bags to collected papers and packaging – giving overlooked elements a second life within the layers of a painting.

A suggestion of form rather than detail is what I aspire to, offering the viewer an invitation to contemplate and interpret every painting according to their own emotions and experiences.

I see my work as a visual dialogue – one that invites viewers to pause, reflect, and connect with the rhythms, silences, and stories held within each canvas. Through layers of colour, texture, marks and gesture, I aim to evoke not just a sense of place, but a sense of feeling – an internal landscape as much as an external one.

Based in the UAE, I paint from my home studio and share my creative journey through this space.
